Mr. Gordon Short. Wellington, is to leave for the south today to adjudicate the pianoforte sections at the Dunedin competitions. Tlie Rev. J. C. A. Cole, vicar of Hiknrangi for tlie past five years, has been appointed vicar of All Saints Church. Wanganui.
Mr. A. E. Briggs, who was Chief Hansard reporter for 17 years, was presented by bis colleagues with a gold watch on the occasion of his rctiremeiit recently. Professor 11. Belshnw. Auckland University College, lias left for lite United States to carry out research.work in New York in international affairs. He will he absent from New Zealand for about six months.
Mr. Andersen Tyrer, tlie Englih pianist and composer, who lias been conducting Trinity College examinations in Christchurch, is back again in Wellington He will be engaged for tlie next fortnight examining theory examination papers.
