PRISONERS OF WAR The price to the public of the special air letter-card for communicating with prisoners of war will toe reduced to 6d. as from next Thursday. Announcing this on Saturday, the Post-master-General, Mr. Webb, said the charge for these cards would thus be brought into line with the postage charged on the air letter-cards provided for communicating with members of the armed forces overseas. Prisoner-of-war air letter-cards were being scut by air practically throughout their whole .journey, and. in the circumstances, some improvement iu transmission times was expected. The Minister also said that special air letter-cards could now be used for communicating with prisoners and civilian internees in Japanese hands. Cards for such addresses would he given air transit as far as possible, though it had to be expected that the transmission time to destination would still be lengthy.
