Dalmatian’s Offences (By Telegraph.—Press A'ssociatlon.) AUCKLAND. August. IS. A plea that evasion of income tax by Tony Vittle. a Dalmatian, restaurantkeeper. had been due to influences of his youth, was made by Mr. L. P. Leary in the Magistrates’ Court today when Vittle admitted three charges of furnishing false income returns.

Mr. G. R. Meredith, for the prosecution. said the seriousness of the offences lav in the fact that they had been deliberate. In 1941 the defendant furnished a return of incom" of £613 when his real income was £1.738. .In 1942. the income was shown as £529. when it actually was £1159. For 19*3 the defendant showed his income ns £552. when actually it was £2754. Mr. Leary said that Vittle was a Dalmatian who enmo front an oppressed People and his youth had been passed in an atmosphere of oppression and evasion.
