VICTORY CONCERT
The victory concert in the Opera House, Wellington, on Monday, August 28, will be presented by the,National War Loan Committee (bv arrangement with the National Broadcasting Service and Theatre Management, Ltd.), to inaugurate the Victory Loan campaign. In deciding to devote the entire proceeds to the Wellington Htaabled Servicemen’s Re-establishmeht League, the committee is aiding a cause i that draws universal sympathy. The programme is on popular lines and will be contributed to by Mary Pratt, contralto; . Henri Penn, solo pianist; Kenneth Macaulay, baritone; the N.B.S. Variety Orchestra- and the 2YA Wireless Chorus. Short addresses will be given by the Minister of Finance, Mr. Nash, and the Prime Minister, iMr. Fraser, who will be Introduced by the mayor, Mr. Appleton. The musical ' highlight of the programme is tlie “Warsaw Concerto,” played by Henri Penn and the orchestra. The concert starts at 7.43 p.m.
