VIOLENT COUNTERATTACKS
N.Z. Springboard Against Florence Line (Received July 31, 1.20 a.m.) LONDON, July 30. The German counter-attacks against the New Zealanders near Florence followed an attempt by the New Zealanders to force the enemy from two hill features north of San Casciauo. says Reuter's correspondent on the Florence sector today.' The Germans in the past 24 hours made five violent attacks supported by artillery, mortars and Tiger tanks. The New eZalanders were able to regain their positions and now hold a decent springboard for a solid attack against the so-called Florence Line which runs from Monte Lupo, 10 miles , west of Florence, to Impruneta, seven miles south of Florence.
