PETROL COUPONS
Precautions Against Forgeries Referring to the petrol coupon forgery discovered last month, the oil fuel controller, Mr. Lnurenson, stated that it would be necessary to continue the precautions taken during July. These precautions so far had effectively prevented the redemption of forged coupons, but it was not known how widely these coupons had been distributed, and it would be necessary to guard against their introduction at a later date. Therefore, persons redeeming coupons would till further notice be required to endorse the back of tlie coupon as formerly. It was also intended to continue the restriction requiring that no motor spirit lie supplied on coupons except directly into tile Link of a motor vehicle, but local oil fuel controllers would receive instructions as to the relief to be provided where this created hardship -
