Eight Days Left For Getting Stickers Though licensing of motor-vehicles and motor-vehicle drivers at the Wellington Town Hall has been more brisk in the last few days than earlier, a car may still ? relicensed and a driving licence renewed within a few minutes. The new royal blue stickers which will indicate that a vehicle has been licensed for IJ4I- - have to be on windscreens by the Saturday after next, so that eight days are left for the work. Usually a large proportion of vehicle owners leave this task till the last few days of the month, though by doing so they run great risk of having to wait in queues. Over 1000 vehicles were relicensed m Wellington on Tuesday, the total to then hein" 5628. Fewer Army vehicles have to be dealt with this year thap last year, hut it is estimated that there will be 12,000 to do. so that more than half the work had to be done in the remaining time. Private motorists have been lagcring more than business-vehicle owners. The procedure this year is similar to that of previous years in most respects, but there is a new kind of sticker to distinguish cars in class •>. It bears tne initials 8.C.. standing for business car. The petrol coupons, which are being issued in sheets of 12 to each owner, are like last year’s, though readily distinguishable from them. The cost of Hcensiiw a private car is now usually £2/10/b. compared with £2/11/6. the insurance premium being 1/- less.
