Americans On Heights See St. Peter’s (By Telegraph.—Press Assu.—Copyright.) (Received June 2, 1.15 a.m.) LONDON. June 1. 'l'he Americans from the newly-captur-ed heights south-west of Rome have had the first glimpse of the capital—a hazy mass of buildings iu the distance, from the midst of which the dome of St. Peter’s is just barely visible. "With the Eighth's Army’s capture of Frosinone and Sora, says Reuter’s correspondent at. the advanced headquarters, Kesselring has lost'two vital ’ escape routes. His troops caught between the Fifth Army's left wing and the advancing Eighth Army now have only tracks over which to get away.
