ON THE FARM, “IVANHOE,” JIENZIES FERRY. WEDNESDAY, JUNE 7, 1944, Commencing at 11 o’clock Sharp. MESSRS. WItIGHT, STEPHENSON & CO., LTD., have been favoured with instructions from MR. A. M. WEIR, "Ivanhoe,” Menzies Ferry, who has sold his farm, to offer as above the Whole of his Live and Dead -Stock, including the wellknown “Ivanhoe” Ayrshire Stud, and comprising Sheep, Cattle, Horses, Implements, and Sundries, as follows: — CATTLE32 Registered in calf Ayrshire cows II Registered Ayrshire rising 2-yr. incalf heifers 4 Unregistered Ayrshire in-calf cows 3 Unregistered Ayrshire rising 2-yr. In-calf heifers 1 Stud Ayrshire bull, Ardgowan Makbar.” rising 4-yr. old 1 Stud Ayrshire bull, rising 3-yr. old 1 -Stud Ayrshire bull, rising 2,-yr. ' 4 Registered yearling Ayrshire bulls NOTE. —The dispersal of the “Ivanhoe” spells “finis” to the existence of the Famous Stpd which Mr. Weir so successfully followed on the “G’lenweir” Ayrehires, founded by Ids father, the late Cochrane Weir, on the Otago Peninsula over 60 years ago. Production records, setting new standards for the breed, have been created by members of the “Ivanhoe” Stud, and expense has been a secondary consideration when it came to the question of introducing new blood into the herd, nor was sentiment allowed to interfere with the rigorous culling which had to take place. It is unique amongst breeders of Dairy Cattle to have as many as THREE CLASS LEADERS AND DOMINIOIN CHAMPIONSHIPS IN ONE HERD, yet that is the proud record attaching to the “Ivanhoe” Herd. To merely own such a trio would be a great honour, but to have bred them and brought them out. adds merit to an already meritorious performance. Descendants from these champion females, sired by picked bulls imported from Scotland and Canada as well as the Dominion’s best, will be offered at tin’ Sale. Breeders and dairymen alike are recoin mended to attend the dispersal of High-class Ayrshire Cattle. Catalogues obtainable from Auctioneers. ORDER OF SALE:—Sundries. Implements. Shoop.
