Proclamation By President
(Received March 24, 7.40 p.m.) 'WASHINGTON. March 23. In order to honour “America’s valiant soldiers, welded by the fire of battle into a mulitv army of liberation, who must face during the coming year the burning test of their courage, resourcefulness and physical prowess.” President Roosevelt has proclaimed April 6 as Army Day. He urged civilians to “reconsecrate themselves to the task of producing m the fullest measure and with the greatest possible speed the weapons, ammunition, materials and supplies required to equip our army and sustain it unto victory.
