THOROUGH COMB-OUT

Deferred Workers In Britain (Received February 22, 10 p.m.) LONDON, February 21. A third and most thorough comb-out M deferred men still in civilian jobs is announced by the Ministry of Labour, says the “Daily Express.” All industries except coalmining and the Merchant Navy will be asked for men. The most important trades, for instance, some forms of engineering, will be asked to release all deferred skilled men to 21 years. Less essential industries will be asked to release deferred men to 39 years. The decision applies to men who are at present deferred because of special value in civilian jobs. Now they are wanted for the forces. The older men are wanted for garrison duty in Britain.
