Government House, Wellington, February 21.

This morning at Government House Lieutenant-Colonel F. Waite was swornin by His Excellency the Goyernor-Geiier-al as a member of the Legislative Council.

Mr. J. S. Balderstone, general manager in Australia of T. Borthwick and Sons Ltd., arrived at Auckland by air on Saturday from Sydney on a brief visit to the Dominion. Lieutenant-Colonel F. Baker, Director of Rehabilitation, visited the West Coast last week. Mr. J. Stanton, chairman of the Auckland Grammar School board, returned to Auckland from Wellington on Saturday. Mr. K. M. Fraser, Commonwealth Controller of Fertilizers, arrived at Auckland bv air from Sydney on Saturday. Sir Arthur S. Gaye, United Kingdom representative on the British Phosphates Commission, was a passenger by ,air from Sydney on Saturday. He will visit Wellington this week, later returning to Auckland.
