VICE-REGAL VISIT TO WAIROA
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WAIROA., February 17. The Governor-General, Sir Cyril Newall, and Lady Newall, paid their first official visit to Wairoa today in glorious weather. Their Excellencies paid several calls, including a visit to the high school, where the children of the district were assembled and gave them a rousing welcome. Later an official welcome took place, followed by a luncheon. In the afternoon the party visited the hospital and the lakitimu Sir Jas. Carroll Memorial Hall, where they were enthusiastically received by a large gathering of Maoris.
