CLASH IN CHANNEL
Enemy Forces Worsted (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, February 15.. The Admiralty states that during an offensive sweep off the coast of Holland last night light coastal forces ed and attacked an enemy force which included anti-aircraft ships and two heav-ily-armed trawlers.. Two hits with torpedoes were scored on the anti-aircraft ships, which were last seen, dismasted, and in a severely damagad condition. The British ships then engaged the trawlers with gunfire and left one burning fiercely. Later, British ships intercepted several groups of E-boate. A series of gun actions developed at close range. One Lboat was left stepped and on fire, and four others were severely damaged. AU the British ships returned safely, having suffered a small number of casualties and only superficial damage.
