HASTINGS, February 15. Following severe leg wounds received during war service in the Middle East, the All Black and Hawke’s Bay Rugby representative, Everard Stanley Jackson, has had to undergo an amputation operation. Jackson will be a great loss to Rugby in this province. He_ represented New Zealand in 1936-37 and 1938. He is a son of Mr. S. F. Jackson, who brought the Anglo-Welsh touring team to New Zealand in 1908, and later, along with Mr. Hardin", the other organizer, decided to settle here. Everard Jackson s brother, Sydney, who is also in the Middle East, is the family’s third international. Everard made his first appearance in d Test against the 1936 Australian tourists. and played in all three Tests, lhe following season he again represented New Zealand against the Springboks in all three Tests. Ir 1938 he played in one Test during the All Blacks’ tourof Australia. He played for Hawke’s Bay in Ranfurly Shield games and represented the North Island against the South in five annual fixtures. ;
