RECORD CONVOY TO NORTH AFRICA
LONDON, February 11. The biggest convoy that has ever been at sea, apart from those carrying troops on operations, recently arrived from Britain at port! in North Africa. At one time the ships, including the escort, totalled 148 vessels, and the convoy covered an area of nearly 70 square miles. Not a single ship was lost or damaged during the voyage. , The only incident reported in the Atlantic was an abortive attack by four enemy bombers and chree attacks by the escorting ships when a U-boat was thought to be near.
