Railway Platform Tickets

Sir, —“Grandmother’s” letter 'on the above subj’eet is much overdue. Discrimination should be shown in the matter of admission to railway platforms prior to the departure of trains. Some little time back my wife, who was not in good health travelled to Wanganui anfl it was only by appealing to the attendant at the gate that I was eventually able to see her safely settled on the train. Some control may be necessary, but the regulations at present in force create hardship, specially where women and children are travelling.— I am. etc., TRAVELLER. Wellington, February 12.
