CONTROL OF ORGANIC FERTILIZER
An amendment to the fertilizer control order gazetted this week aims at giving priority of available supplies of organic fertilizers such as blood aud bone, dry blood and bonedust to market gardeners. Tbe use of organic fertilizers in mixtures is prohibited except under a permit granted by the primary industries controller, but this provision does not apply to mixtures put up for sale by retailers in small quantities. Furthermore, manufacturers of organic fertilizers are prohibited from selling them either wholesale or retail without a permit from the controller in any case where the fertilizer is not intended for use in' market gardens.
