Charged before Mr. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrates’ Court, Wellington, yesterday, with receiving five 44-gallon drums of.petrol, valued at £B/3/1, the property of the United Suites Government, knowing the petrol to have beeu dishonestly obtained, George Cyril Lawson, taxidriver, was remanded on the application of his counsel, Mr. T. G. Taylor. Sen-ior-Sergeant Paine said he understood Lawson was electing trial by jury.
Albert Reginald Taylor, an A/c.2 in the R.N.Z.A.F., was fined £2 by Mr. Stout, S.M., iu the Magistrates Court, ■Wellington, yesterday, for entering a wharf without a permit. On a similar charge respecting a ship he was convicted and discharged
