Boot Repairer Found Guilty Dominion Special Service. AUCKLAND, February 9. The trial of Edwin James Jarvis, boot repairer, aged 28, on a series of charges arising out of the armed hold-up of two Chinese in their shops last October was concluded before Mr. Justice Fair. Jarvis was charged that on October 1, with his brother, being armed with a revolver, he robbed Fong Kui of a wireless set, overcoat and other articles of a total value of £l5/18/6, and that on October 2 he robbed Francis Wong Hop of £6, using persona] violence. There were alternative charges of robbery and theft and of armed robbery. The Crown alleged that accused and his brother were concerned in the case with two American sailors who had been sentenced by an American Court. After a retirement of an hour, the jury found accused -guilty of robbing Francis Wong Hop of £6 and not guilty of all the other counts. He was remanded for sentence.
