TWO PETROL COUPONS A MONTH
Motor Unions’ Request
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, January 19. The request of the South and North Island Motor Unions for two full petrol coupons a month has been sent to the > Acting-Prime Minister, Mr. Sullivan. The unions in a letter' contended that supplies and tanker transport were available; that army reserves previously stored in resellers’ underground tanks had been "released for sale; that there had been a general easing of restrictions: that road services running beside railways had been reopened; and that the tyres of the majority of motorists would last for many thousands of miles.
