Current Year’s Enormous - - Aircraft Output
(Received January 20, 12.1 a a.m-) NEW YORK, January lb. The “Herald-Tribune” states that it has learned from authoritative sources •that America will produce more than 100,000 planes during this year. The num-, her of heavy bombers will be increased aU per cent., while the number of trainers ’ and obsolete fighters will be sharply cut. Illustrating the soaring output, the informant disclosed that 400 planes were produced on January 17, which was the biggest day’s output in history. The Foreign Economic Administration 4 disclosed that the -American lend-lease aid to Russia has been keeping pace with the rising tempo' of the Red' Army’s advance. In November 338,000,000 dollars worth of goods were shipped to Russia, the. largest amount sent in the history of lend-lease.
