Capture On Arakan ■ Front
(Received Jaiuiary 19, 8.5 p.m.) LONDON, January 18. British troops have captured the village of Bagona, three miles south-east of Maungdaw, and repulsed Japanese counter-attacks in the area. During the weekend R.A.F. fighters harassed Japanese communications in the Mayu battle area, and Japanese positions were attacked four times by our dive-bombers. In northern Burma Chinese twops have occupied two more villages. British and American aircraft supported the troops by attacking nearby Japanese bases and supply dumps.
