The committee said that Mr. Parry had tirelessly laboured for many years .for the adontion of a scheme helpful to the production of the- physical fitness of the people. Today, with the working of his scheme under a legislative .enactment, the committee felt the Minister was able to
view its full operation throughout the Dominion with a good deal of personal satisfaction. The representatives of the committee present at its interview with the Minister included: Messrs. J.'Meltzer, chairman. A. C. Kitto, vice-chairman, V. L. Allen, K. A. Falconer, secretary, Mesdames Muir and Wilson and Captain Mullaney. Mr. Parry thanked the committee for
its reference to his work and eulogized the New Zealand Council of Sport on what it bad achcived in a short time since its inception. He felt he could look to the council for sound advice, in the same way as could the sports’ organizations. on various matters in the administration of the Act in which it could be suggested the Government could afford assistance. The local bodies of the Dominion had powhrs under the legislation and he thought their assistance could well be anticipated after the war. Already several had given splendid help.
