STATUS OF PHILIPPINES
WASHINGTON, September 20.
Senator M. R. Tydings has introduced a joint resolution to grant immediate and full independence to the Philippines, says the United Press. The resolution is a move aimed at blocking the Japanese plans to give the Philippines a “phony”, independence, and has the approval of the White House.
President Quezon bailed the resolution as the best, wisest, and noblest measure which "Congress could pass at this time regarding the Philippines.
