Mr. Stronach Paterson, Wellington, is in Auckland. Mr. G. W. Guthrie, Wellington, left for Auckland yesterday. Mr. Will Appleton was last, night reelected chairman of the Wellington Technical College Board of Managers. Mr. J. Lindsay, chief postmaster at Invercargill for the past two years and a half, has retired on superannuation. Mr. B. Vinson, Wellington, New Zealand manager of Columbia Pictures Pty., Ltd., of Australasia, left for the north last night. Mr. C. B. Matthewson, manager of the National Bank of New Zealand, at Stratford, has been appointed manager at Whangarei, and Mr. J. H. Chamberlain, accountant at Hustings, goes to Stratford as manager. Mr. H. H. B. Jones, manager of the Bank of New South Wales branch in Perth, has been appointed manager in Melbourne. Mr. Jones was manager of Hie Christchurch branch of the bank from 1932 to 1933, and, acting inspector in New Zealand in 1934. Mr. Walter Nash, barrister and solicitor, Napier, who is now in Hie Royal New Zealand Air Force, was taken seriously ill suddenly in Blenheim yesterday and is a patient in the Bleidieim Hospital. On receiving advice of their son's illness, his parents, the Minister of Finance, Mr. Nash, and -Mrs. Nash, immediately went over to Blenheim from Wellington by air.
