Mrs. Beebie spoke recently to the imjrori branch of the Dominion Federation of Townswomen's Guilds, on the effects of bombing on children . in Bngland. Items were given. Mrs. Blair sang a song, and an instrumental trio, Mrs. McKenzie (’cello), Mrs. Fahey (violin), and Mrs. Thompson (piano). The war work circle reported that knitted articles had been sent to Air Force Delations, and members had completed 1000 roses for Dose Day?

Members of the Again branch of tlie League of Mothers held a ’ practical day” at their September meeting, when articles made of odd pieces of material and wool created much interest, things that bad been sent by soldiers overseas were also on view. Items were firosentecl by members of the Kbandallah singing circle, conducted by Mrs. Potts, and two solos were sung by Mrs. Burtinshaw. Mrs. Sargiuson presided, and one new member was admitted.
College Fair. Rongotai College Ladies Auxiliary will bold its annual fair next Saturday in the college gymnasium nt 2.30 p.m. An attractive musical programme is to be given by the college orchestra and choir. The pupils are also specializing in a bobby stall featuring model aeroplanes and other novelties and useful articles will be offered for sale. Senior boys will assist the masters in games programmes and a Punch and Judy show will be staged for small folk. There will.be 110 charge for admission, and an invitation is extended to all parents and friends.
