GIFTS TO CANADIAN NAVY
(By Telegraph —Press A-su — CopyrlirhL) OTTAWA, September 23. Canada received six destroyers from Britain in 1943 and would receive two cruisers and possible carriers in 1944, said Mr. A. McDonald, Minister of the Navy, when speaking at St. John, New Brunswick. lie expressed the hope that tlie Canadian Navy would never be reduced to its insignificant pre-war status.
