The results clearly show that Labour’s policy has not been endorsed.' - Mr. Fraser’s own seat, despite all the weight of the Trades Hall machine, is held on a MINORITY vote of 1124 compared with a MAJORITY vote of 3837 flve years ago. His total vote was less than my own in 1038. Some National candidates have lost because of apathy, but the Nationalist Party voters who took the trouble to record their verdict did so in no uncertain terms. Labour will now no doubt start to trim its sails. Will Appleton congratulates our leader, Mr. S. G. Holland, on his substantial win, and the other National candidates on their success.
