Harbour Traffic Suffers
(J’v 1 — Press Association > 'AUCKLAND, September 24. A gale sometimes , reaching a velocity of 50 miles an hour during heavy squalls swept Auckland today. Heavy seas in Hie harbour buffeted ferry steamers ami delayed services, and in many cases proved too ninch for small craft. The Hi" Te Awliina, ami several launches, spent a busy day towing small craft which had broken down. The hulk of the Northern Company s old steamer. Rangitbto, broke away from tier moorings, and drifted to (lie western reclamation at Bayswater, where it was secured. Some damage wits done to city gardens.
