OPPOSITION PARTIES
Separate Federal Action CANBERRA, September 22. Meetings of the United Australia Party and the United Country Party today decided to operate as separate entities within Parliament, thus breaking the working arrangement that lias been in existence for some years. Mr. R. G. Menzies was elected leader of the U.A.P., and, as if. is the largest party after the Government, he will also be Leader of the Opposition. Air. TV. Al. Hughes, who led the party in tlie last Parliament, did not seek re-election, but was elected deputy leader. Air. A. AA r . Faddcn was re-elected leader of the Country Party.
