“A Letter from the ‘Hutt News,’ 22/9/43.” Sir,—l have read the various letters from people who obviously do not know John Hogan and are blinded by their old party prejudices. I do know him. and the wonderful work he has done. In my opinion we in Hutt have a great opportunity lo give this young man Hie chance he is richly entitled to. and 1 believe that in him we have the best candidate in Now Zealand to vote for. He has youth, vigour, outstanding ability, wide experience, broad vision, mill progressive ideals, splendid character, and all the qualities Now Zealand needs in the Parliament that will have to win the peace. The fact that lie refuses to be tied to any party should arouse our admiration, not our criticism. If we allow parly prejudices £o stop us from giving him a chance we shall bo very ashamed of ourselves. , Mr. Nash is more concerned with being a world statesman than a representative of the people in the New Zealand Parliament. He can go back to Washington in any ease, without disfranchising us. Why should lie stand in the road of this young man who can do so much for the electorate and the country in Parliament.— I am, etc., H. A. LEE. Lower Hutt—Advt.
