The .Minister of Economic Warface, Lord Si'lboi-ne. stilted in the House of Lords, l bat Ihe Governments of the Lulled Kingdom and the United Stales reserve the right to treat ns invalid any transfer to neutral ownership id' any enemy rights or interests in property in Itniy. .Nationals or firms in neutral countries, acquiring or purporting to acquire such rights and interests, lay themselves open to all sanctions nt the disposal of the Governments of the United States and Britain.
Lord Selborne added that it w.-is known that, certain concerns in mmtral countries, in anticipation of the early occupation of Italy by Allied forces, contemplated acquiring enemy-owned assets in Italy.
