NAZI SHELL MISSES EISENHOWER
LONDON. September 21
A German shell landed in LieutenantGeneral Clark’s Fifth Army headquarters while General Eisenhower was there, but it exploded harmlessly. General Eisenhower inspected the larger part of the Allied front, and spent some time at each army headquarters, corps headquarters, and divisional headquarters, and also at the field hospitals. He also stood beside arf’illery batteries in action. He said he was fully satisfied with the progress of the invasion.
