At Geraldine Sal’s Pal was weighted 8.7, carried 9.1, and won. Though he was disqualified for the race through an unfortunate irregularity for which bis connexions could not be held responsible, his performance will be regarded as a winning one when he is next weighted. He may not fare so badly, as the race was a maiden handicap in which there were only 71b. between the topweight and those on the minimum. But Sal’s Pal carried 9.1. which was a pound above the topweight, and will have to pay the penalty for it, though his owner has won no stake money. Sal’s Pal is raced by Air. J. B. Giles, Gore.
