Speaking at the Brooklyn School last evening. Mrs. Stewart (Labour) said it was important that the Labour Government the returned to office as experience in the past had taught that no reliance could be placed on the promises of the Nationalists. Despite their claims that they were a new party, they and their whole outlook were the products o. Toryism. The Labour Government had done much for education, and it would be correct to say that the Prime Minister would go down in the history of the Dominion as a great Minister of Education. Dealing with Social Security, the candidate stated that only the fringe bad been touched, and she looked forward to rhe day when the scheme would 'be allembracing. Touching on rehabilitation, she assured her audience that Labour would fulfil every promise made, aud when the war was over and the peace won the Government would complete the task Of making New Zealand a better country than ever before.
