ALLIED OCCUPATION CONFIRMED
Island In Dodecanese
LONDON, September 21
A communique from the Middle East headquarters says that Royal Air Force units have successfully landed on the island of Kos, in tbc Dodecanese Islands, and occupied the aerodrome. Italian ground forces co-operated. The island is already being used as an Allied air base. It was earlier reported from Turkey that Kos, which is 50 miles north-west if Rhodes, was in Allied hands, together with several other islands in the Aegean Sea.
