NURSES OBJECT
Grey Uniform May Be Changed To Khaki
Strong objection is being taken by members of the Now Zealand Army Nursing Service to a proposed order which would mean a change in the colour ot their uniforms from the traditional and distinetiic grey, with scarlet facings, to khaki. Negotiations were proceeding at the nomeut, said Miss I. G. IV illis, \\ ellingtou, Matron-iu-Chief, N.Z.A.N.S. Nurses disapproved strongly of the idea of changing to khaki. If the order was carried out, the nurses would buy 'heir new uniforms from the officers allowances granted to them. . It is not known whether a khaki uniform would follow the coat and skirt style of the present grey and red one. Many nurses feel that such an order would mean an unnecessary waste of existing uniforms and materials.
