Floral Decorations From Eastbourne Gardens

Designated a dance, rather than as in many previous years a ball, the bourne L’lunket Society s annual eflort held on Saturday night, at the pavilion, Day's Bay. now a service club, nevertheless enjoyed the usual outstanding suecess. This was assured beforehand by the efforts of a large band of workers who give untiring service year after year. Ihe dance is recognized as an outstanding social event of the season for the east harbour district. Many Wellington people were amopg the guests, who tiunibeted more than -WO. Flowers from nearby gardens were massed in fragrant clusters on the stage and soft drinks stall, those on the stall being for sale. The forefront of the stage was banked with red magnolias and bamboo, bowls of pink blossom, pink camellias, arum lilies and lerns. making an attractive backing. The pavilion was arranged cabaret style and rainbowhued streamers were suspended from the ceiling. Even the balcony, where nondancers played cards, received its share of the decorations. The usual delicious home-made supper was served. Mr. 11. 1. Underhill was master of ceremonies. Arr-iiv'ements had been made by a workers, together with L - Bishop, 'resident, Mrs. 11. T.
