MEDALS FOR MEDICAL PERSONNEL

Parade In Middle East (Official War Correspondent.) CAIRO, September 10. Nine decorations won by officers and men of New Zealand medical units in the campaigns of the last three years were presented today by Lieutenant-Gen-eral Freyberg before one of the largest parades of New Zealand field medical personnel ever held in the Middle East. Paraded under the command of Colonel R. D. King. D. 5.0., of Tiniaru, Assistant Director of Medical Services in the New Zealand Division, were three field ambulance units and their army service corps sections. ' With Brigadier 11. S. Kenrick, Director of Medical Services of the 2nd N.Z.E.F., General Freyberg inspected the parade and took the salute for the march past. Decorations which had been won in the first and second Libyan campaigns, in Greece, at El Ahuueiu and in North Africa, were as follows: Distinguished Service Order, Colonel King. Military Cross: Major A. L. Lomas. Captain J. M. Stavely, Captain L. A. Bryant. Distinguished Conduct Medal: Driver E. A. Henderson. Military Medal: Corporal C. C. Robinson. Private A. H. Meyer. British Empire Medal: Staff-Sergeant H. IV. Lucas. Member of the Order of the British Empire: Lieutenant R. W. Cawthorne.
