No Radio Licences. Five .persons were convicted for having no radio licences and were fined amounts up to 15/- in the Magistrates’ Court, Wellington, yesterdjiy. No Railway Ticket. Two soldiers, George Hansen, aged 19, and Arthur Fraser, aged 20, appeared before Mr. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrates Court, Wellington, yesterday, on charges of converting motor-cars to their own use. Senior-Sergeant G. J. Paine said that the cars had been taken at Miramar, and were found at Johnsonville. The magistrate sentenced Hansen to . three months’ and Fraser to one month’s imprisonment.* Food Conference. Advice of the postponement of the international conference to deal with food problems has been received by the Government. The Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser, stated yesterday that this was to have taken place in the United States on April 27, but had now been deferred till May IS. The Prime Minister has already announced that New Zealand will be represented at the conference. Man Shoplifter. "This man found it so easy to go round Wellington shops and lift goods that he made a habit of it,” said Senior-Sergeant G. J.
