Public Service Women’s Club. A fair crowd attended tbc -Saturday night dauce held by the Public Service Women's Club, Wellington. Miss H. Black. Physical Welfare Branch. Internal Affairs Department, was hostess. The department on duty and responsible for the supper arrangements was Industries and Commerce, members of wlnea served supper, Men of the forces appreciate the facilities of the club and the comfortable lounge which is available to them on .Saturday and Sunday nights. Bose Hip Syrup. In view of the emphasis laid by the lioyal New Zealand Society for the Health of Women and Children on the value of rose-hip syrup for babies to replace orange-juice, it is interesting to note that a Dunedin firm lias called tor large quantities of rose-hips from which it has been asked to manufacture supplies or vitamin C as a work of national importance. The firm is jn-epared to pay bd. per lb. for the rose-bips, and in Southland, where they ripen later than in the north, schoolchildren will soon be husv collecting them.
