A very smart black felt hat with ,a wide brim and a highish crown is simply trimmed with lozenge-shaped motifs outlined with felt lacing. Another wide-brimmed felt is in a lovely' shade of dull red. The brim has a lovely line slightly turned up and the crown is very' cleverly' hand-blocked with tucks running across diagonally, ending in a little ladder of bootlace bows at one side. These little touches of handwork give a really' distinctive finish. Agnes Samson, Lambton Quay. —Advt.
