At the annual meeting .on December 23 the directors will recommend a final dividend on preference shares ot 34 per cent., making 7$ per cent, for the year, and a dividend on ordinary shares for the 12 months of 2| per cent. Gold Mining The Molyneaux dredge for the period ended November 27 returned 167 ounces for 654 hours. , The Austral-New Zealand dredge for the four weeks ended November 27 returned P24OZ.' for 467 hours. The following returns are for November: —Barrytown, 4320 z. tor 463 from 188,000 vards. Kanieri. 7390 z. for 4tH5 hours from 151,000 yards. Arahura, 12620 z. for 509 hours from 196,000 yards. Queensland Insurance Co. After placing £15,000 to unexpired risKS reserve, against £60,000 last year, the underwriting surplus of the Queensland Insurance Company is £62,583 for the year ended September, compared with £52,664 for 1940-4'l. Net interest and rents yielded £79,793, 'against £73,264, so that total profit Is £142,376, against £125,928. Unchanged dividend of 10 per cent, requires £75,000, and £50,000 is added to reserve,' leaving a carry forward ot £86,500, against £69,223 brought forward. Net premiums were £872.711, against £863,576, and losses £4d5,965, against £400,505.
