PATROLS SKIRMISHING ON GUADALCANAL
(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, December 2.
The United States Navy Department states that army and marine troops on Guadalcanal Island are engaged in extensive patrols along Che outskirts of the American positions. Several of the patrols encountered the enemy and inflicted casualties and captured arms, including three guns and six machineguns. , „ SYDNEY, December 3.
The war correspondent of the “Sydney Morning Herald says that the American positions round Kukuxn airfield have been consolidated in preparation for possible Japanese attempts to land further reinforcements.
