BUTCHERY TRADE
Declared Essential
All wholesale and retail butcher establishments have been declared essential. “The declaration,” said the Minister of National Service, Mr. McLagan, yesterday, “applies only to those workers coming within the scope of the various butchers’ awards. The decision to apply a declaration to this industry was made because the serious shortage of skilled butcheis rendered it Imperative to conserve the labour available in order to ensure that both the public and the armed forces receive adequate supplies of meat.”
