Vice-Regal. Government HousC, Wellington, August 12. His Excellency the Governor-General presided at a meeting of the Executive Council ibis morning. This afternoon his Excellency received the Attorney-General (the Hon. 11. G. R. Mason, M.P.).
Mr. T. A. Barrow, Air Secretary, is visiting Auckland. Sir Francis Fraser, chairman of the War Pensions Appeal Board, is visiting Auckland.
Colonel W. W. Dove, M.C., N.Z.S.C., returned to Wellington from Auckland yesterday. Brigadier K. L. Stewart, 0.8. E., D. 5.0., deputy-Chief of the General Staff, is in Auckland. Colonel C. N. Newman, D. 5.0., commanding the Auckland Fortress Area, arrived at Wellington yesterday.
Professor F. G. Soper, of Otago University, arrived at Wellington from Auckland yesterday on his way south.
Cr. W. 11. Stevens was appointed by the Wellington City Council last night to be its representative on the Wellington Technical College Board for the ensuing year. A motion of appreciation and thanks to Cr. L. W. McKenzie for his past services in the capacity, moved by the mayor, was carried unanimously.
