TUNNEL PIERCED
Auckland Air-Raid Shelter (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, August 12. Tunnellers this afternoon tired the shot which finally pierced a tunnel 2000 feet long under Albert Park, extending from Victoria Street to Constitution Hill. The mayor, Mr. Allum, and the city engineer, Mr. Tyler, shook hands through the final opening. The tunnel and side tunnels will provide air-raid accommodation for 20,000 people in the lieart of the city.
