In an appeal on behalf of King George’s Fund for Sailors this evening, the Minister of War Transport, Lord Leathers. . -lid the King had asked him to give the followina message to seamen: — "Ou this day of tbaiikl’ul remembrance for the service of the officers and men of tiie Royal Navy and Merchant Navy, 1 wish to express once again the heartfelt gratitude of the jieoples of the Empire to tile brave men of tiie two navies on whom so much depends and in whom we place our unbounded trust. Never has their spirit been more resolutely displayed Ilian in the passage of the vital convoys. and I wish them godspeed in their task and safe return from the dangers which beset them on their journeys.” 'l’lie King and Queen, accompanied by Hie Princesses, attended a special service for tile Merchant Navy nt a country Church today.
