HUTT COUNTY RATES
The Hutt County Council yesterday agreed to give notice of its intention, at its next monthly meeting, to-strike rates in respect of its ridings for the year commenced April 1, 1942, as follows Epuni, l|d. in £1; Heretaunga, 90-IOOd. in £1; Horokiwi, Id. and 40-100 d. in £l5 Mangaroa, Id. and 30-100 d. in £1; Wai-nui-ojmata, Id. and 5-100 d. in £1; and Whareroa, lid. in £l, all struck on capital value. Except in the cases of the Heretaunga and Horokiwi Ridings, which show small increases, the rates are as last year. Special district rates will remain the same, except that the sanitation rate for Plimmerton is to be raised to £2 a property because of increased cost of wages and equipment.
